Charles claimed in 1691 that he had the right to nomination of masters to the school's and the patent not having been produced,the claims of Charles ,appeared in the Royal Court,to wit his claim was upheld and well founded .judgment given in his favour on the 22 March 1691.
An appeal was prosecuted before his Majesty in Council,by Philip Falle Rector of St saviour and one John Dumaresque Rector of St Clements:and attested copy of letters patent,granted by H.vii.havign been produceded ,the judgment of the Royal Court was put aside and a nomination was declared to be in the dean and clergy,according to a patent,order in council 16 Nov 1693 |
