| A marriage settlement of ,sixteen Hundred pounds a year jointure,Four hundred pin-money,some Two thousand of Jewels"Carteret says he does not intend to marry the mother and the whole family"a hint at the Jointure.[HW] The wedding took place in the evening at Lord Pomfrets house,the invited were Countess Granville ,Johns mother who did not go and his daughters were not invited for "it might effect them too much" Sophia died of a fever on the 7th October 1745 a few weeks after the birth of her daughter Sophia,who became the wife of William 2nd Earl Shelbourne | ||||||||||||||||

| Sophia suffered a bout of Scarlet fever in March of 1744 and the intended wedding was delayed. her last bout of sickness August of 1745 turned to a fever for some six weeks before she remained in bed. Doctor Oliver,had said she was out of danger .About seven in the evening as Lady Pomfret and Lady Charlotte,were sitting by her she said "I feel death come very fast upon me" she repeated the same words frequently,perfect in her sences and clam and died about eleven at night. Her mother and sister remained with her till she was quite cold. | ||||||||||||||||
