The 7th Le Cercle Reunion - held in Jersey Channel Islands 24th Sept 2011.
Monday 03 October 2011 - 22:37:47
As Secretary of Le Cercle De Carteret I would like to report our successful Reunion.
The Chairman and Committee would like to record our grateful thanks to the Jersey organizers, Cheifly, our President and his wife, and our superb organizers. We recognized how hard, by the well planned itinery of the day.
Members met in Royal Square, and had a very rare chance to visit The Royal Chambers to view the Mace presented to Sir George Carteret by King Charles ll.
Tantivy Coach then transported everyone to Mont Orgueil Castle.Where the De Carteret Family had been involved in some of the building of the magnificant Castle.
After lunch at Gorey, we drove past Trinity Manor, then to St Ouen's Manor. The Seignuer and his wife were very gracious in allowing our party to view the Manor. We found the information given fascinating for the Family Name. While in the grounds, we were able to check the tree planted in 2003 by our Chairman. We also paid homage to the French fisherman executed by the Nazies during The Channel Islands Occupation during the Second World War.
Thanks again to everyone who joined in our Family Day.

Sark 26th September 2010!
Sunday 22 August 2010 - 13:58:22
Hi Everyone,
We are going to Sark on Sunday 26th September 2010.
A special visit, either Day Trip or for the Weekend, you choose!
The special Hawthorn tree planted 10 years ago, now needs to be marked with a commemorative stone.
Rossford has chosen a pink granite stone, which he would like put near the tree. We have ordered a lovely plaque to put on the stone, and have dedicated the plaque to Alice de Carteret MBE as she and Oliver planted the tree.

Our visit will be a gathering, plus the unvieling of the stone.
Hope we can have good weather for the trip.
All the best
Jennifer Thomas (nee De Carteret)

Reunion 2009
Tuesday 29 December 2009 - 17:12:56
The Reunion was a success.
Thanks to everyone who helped organise and attend.
Carteret in Normadie was lovely.
The journey over was a bit choppy.
An interesting ride in a coach.
We visited The little Chappel, saw the trees that were planted in 1999.

Thanks to Allain Blancheton for displaying the memrobillia about our last visit.
Had a lovely lunch at La Plage Hotel.
Beautiful setting.
The highlight was taking a walk along the cliff path from Le Cap de Carteret to the beach.
Hope to organise another gathering in 2011! Any suggestions where?
Has to have a Carteret conection.
Ideas welcome.
Please contact
Your Secretary Jennifer Thomas (Nee De Carteret)
